Cam Carter is an American rapper and lyricist from Memphis, Tennessee and currently lives in Los Angeles, California where he is working on his debut album “Halo Into Hell”. At an early age, Cam Carter began writing verse poetry inspired by 2pac, Nas, Three 6 Mafia, and Lil Wayne. When he was thirteen he started integrating his poetry into music, structuring his rough lyrics into themed song concepts. He focused on education, football, and music throughout high school, finishing with many awards and is a member of multiple academic honor societies. Five years later, Cam Carter graduated from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He then started recording music at top studios after a viral video surfaced of him rapping in Austin, Texas in 2009. Since then he has built rapport with some legendary hip hop artists in Memphis such as: Kingpin Skinny Pimp, 8ball & MJG, Gangsta Blac, Frayser Boy, Lil Wyte, Big Phil/DJ Squeeky, and Teflon Don. Stomping in a city known for violence, corruption and drugs, Cam Carter earned his stripes as an underground artist and was nicknamed “Half Pint” and “Milk Money” from his peers in the streets. After witnessing many trials and tribulations he became aware of the deep corruption games integrated into modern society and he plans to shine a light on these topics in his future releases. After the tragic passing of his mother Bonnie, Cam Carter moved to Los Angeles with the help of his father where he started taking his talents more seriously and he recorded his debut trending single “Knee High” in 2018 after flying a DefJam accredited engineer out from Florida to oversee the project. In 2019, Cam Carter released his second single “Haha” which features his engineer Van Leeuwen and is now available on all major platforms. In March, he struck his first clothing deal with New America Brand and has been on multiple radio stations in Atlanta and Memphis. He is being featured in an issue of One West Magazine as well. He is currently working on his third single titled “Pink Panther” featuring the legendary Kingpin Skinny Pimp.
