From Salinas, CA, Jonathan Fordham AKA Jon Ford has had a passion and love for music since an early age. As a child, he would sing along to oldies and rap such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and MC Hammer, using the fireplace as his stage. In elementary school, he was in the school band and played the trumpet. There was various types of genres ranging from blues, to jazz, to hip hop, and RnB playing in his household. Jon was infleunced by all of these, but it was hip hop that really got a hold of him. When he reached junior high school, he began making beats with friend and fellow musician Carlos Rossi. Jon has been composing and writing original music ever since. By his Junior year in high school, he met Felix Colon AKA JRFX, a gifted composer of hip hop instrumentals. Together they collaborate on various projects along with emcee Loon E Lou and various local artists. Jon has created music on a variety of softwares and hardwares such as Pro Tools, Reason, FL Studio, the Yamaha Motif, the Roland Phantom, the NIko XXL, and the MPC. He has many influences including J Dilla, Illa J, Neptunes, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Nas, Jadakiss, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Mac Dre, Outkast, Little Brother, and Ice Cube, just to name a few. He strives to make music for multi generations and has also used his knowledged of music in his community to influence at risk youth to focus their minds elsewhere than the unforgiving streets.
